TERPENTIAM®

1 g contains 100, 450 or 800 mg of tiamulin hydrogen fumarate

Pharmacological properties

Tiamulin has a broad spectrum of antibacterial action against gram-positive (Staphylococcus spp., Streptococcus spp., Listeria monocytogenes, Corynebacterium spp., Erysipelothrix suis, Clostridium spp., etc.) and gram-negative bacteria (Actinobacillus pleuropneumoniae, Lawsonia intracellularis, Mannheimia haemolitica, Pasteurella spp., Haemophillus spp., Brachyspira (Serpulina) hyodysenteriae, Bacteroides spp., Fusobacterium spp., some strains of Klebsiella spp., etc.), mycoplasmas (M. hyopneumoniae, M. hyosinoviae, M. hyorhinis, M. gallisepticum, M. synoviae, M. meleagridis), Chlamidia spp., Rickettsia spp. and Borrelia spp. The most of the bacteria of the family Enterobacteriaceae, including Salmonella spp. and E.coli, Pseudomonas aeruginoza, fungi and viruses are not sensitive to the drug. Mechanism of action: binding 70S-subunit of ribosomal in microorganisms, disrupting the formation of a complex “mRNA-tRNA” and inhibition of protein synthesis.

Indications

• Treatment and prevention of diseases of the gastrointestinal tract and the respiratory system, including dysentery, enzootic pneumonia, proliferative enteropathy (ileitis) in pigs.

• Treatment and prevention of mycoplasmosis, caused by M. gallisepticum, M. synoviae and M. meleagridis in chickens and turkeys.
