Pharmacological properties

Iron, contained in gleptoferron complex, enters hemoglobin and tissue enzymes (cytochrome, cytochrome oxydase, peroxydase, etc). The content of iron in this form, due to the slow release of Fe+3 ions determines a prolonged action of the drug. Vitamin PP stimulates synthesis of NAD and NADP, as these compounds take part in several redox reactions. Vitamin E is an active antioxidant, which inhibits peroxide oxidation of lipids, takes part in process of tissue respiration, biosynthesis of heme and proteins, metabolism of lipids and carbohydrates, cells proliferation and other metabolic processes. Folic acid in animal body recovers to tetrahydrofolic acid, which takes part in different metabolic processes, stimulates erythropoiesis, involved in the synthesis of amino acids (including methionine, serine), nucleic acids, purines and pyrimidines, metabolism of choline. Vitamin B12 is essential for haemopoesis, involved in transmethylation processes, hydrogen transfer, synthesis of methionine, nucleic acids, choline, creatine.

Indications

For treatment and prevention of iron deficiency anemia in calves, lambs, goats, piglets, foals, fur-bearing animals and dogs.

Dosage

Piglets: Piglets: once, on 3-4 day of life, by deep intramuscular route in neck or upper thigh area at a dose of 0.75-1.0 ml per animal.

Calves and foals: Calves and foals: once, in the first days of life, by intramuscular route in thigh area at a dose of 2.0-4.0 ml per animal.

Lambs and goats: Lambs and goats: once, in the first days of life, by intramuscular route in thigh area at a dose of 1.5-2.5 ml per animal.

Female minks: Female minks: during feeding of pups in spring, subcutaneously or intramuscularly at a dose of 0.15 ml per animal.

Mink pups: 6-12 weeks of life, subcutaneously or intramuscularly at a dose of 0.1 ml per animal.

Puppies: Puppies: during the first 2 weeks of life, by intramuscular route in thigh area at a dose of 0.5-1.0 ml per animal.
