vitamin К1 (phytomenadione) capsules for oral administration
Indications
SOLVESTAN is used to treat vitamin K deficiency, dry and irritated skin, to improve the coat and as an antidote to reverse anticoagulant poisoning.
Composition
1 capsule contains 50 mg of phytomenadione (vitamin К1) and excipients – q.s. 1 g. It is white to light yellow powder with chicken flavor.
Package size: bottle with 50 capsules.
Dosage
Prevention: once daily for 21 days at a dose of 5 mg phytomenadione/kg bw, or one capsule (50 mg phytomenadione) per 10 kg via feed or treats. Prevention is recommended at least twice a year, if there is no vitamin K deficiency.
To stimulate growth and improve coat and skin: a single administration of 2-6 capsules via feed or treats.
Indirect anticoagulant poisoning: initial dose for dogs – 2.5 mg/kg every 12 hours for 2 days, then once daily for 7 days at the same dose; initial dose for cats – 5 mg/kg every 12 hours for 2 days, then 5 mg/kg once daily for 7 days.
If the toxic substance belongs to second-generation anticoagulants (Brodifacoum, Bromadiolone), or the active substance is unknown, continue the administration after stabilization for 6-8 weeks at a dose of 1-2.5 mg/kg once daily for 7 days.
Doses per capsule:
under 2.5 kg – ¼ of capsule;
2.5-5 kg – ½ of capsule;
5-7.5 kg – ¾ of capsule;
7.5-10 kg – 1 capsule
Dogs over 10 kg – add ¼ per each 2.5 kg to each capsule.
Administer via feed or treats.
No side effects and complications occur, if it is used in accordance with the instruction. Individual intolerance is possible.
SOLVESTAN is compatible with other feed additives.
Salicylates (NSAIDs) and cephalosporins containing N-methyl-thiotetrazole group can reduce the efficacy of vitamin К1.
SOLVESTAN is incompatible with cyanocobalamin (В12).
