VIC GROUP SPONSORED THE CONTEST FOR THE BEST SCIENTIFIC STUDENT WORK

On 17-18 April, the 2nd stage of the All-Russian contest for the best scientific student work in the "Veterinary Medicine" and "Veterinary Sciences" categories was held at Moscow State Academy of Veterinary Medicine and Biotechnology named after K.I. Scriabin. VIC Group sponsored the event.

12 works of students and 9 works of postgraduates from various regions of the Central District of Russia were approved to participate in the 2nd stage of the contest. Many interesting scientific works were presented at the contest, for instance, mastitis diagnostic techniques and changes in the thyroid gland after the formation of neoplasms.

The scientific works were strictly evaluated by a jury of specialists, many questions and comments were addressed to each contestant. Among the works of postgraduates, the scientific work of A. Bazhinskaya was recognized as the best work. She researched methods of mycotoxin control. Among the students, the first place was taken by the student of Moscow Veterinary Academy, A. Mironenko. His work was devoted to the efficiency of insecticidal ear tags against ectoparasites of cattle.

All the winners of the contest received gifts from VIC Group. It is very important for VIC Group to work with students and postgraduates, because these talented young scientists are the future of veterinary science. Some of them may come join the company, some may use products manufactured by VIC Group while working at farms.

It is worth saying that some of the contestants have already used drugs of VIC Group. A. Gorbach (Belgorod) presented scientific work based on the rational use of antibiotics in poultry rearing. "I am a scientist and work as the chief veterinarian at the farm of the Belgorod region, - said A. Gorbach. - I do not use antibiotics to stimulate growth or immunity, only if it is necessary. For example, when the mortality rate of turkeys increased and we lost 30 birds for one night, I used an antibacterial drug manufactured by VIC Group and avoided the death of the whole flock. To strength immunity system, I use immunostimulants".
 
Almost all the participants believed that the contest was a very important event for students and postgraduates, since all works were thoroughly analyzed and each author received significant comments from professionals. Such contests contribute to the emergence of scientists, so VIC Group plans to support them.
