Specification

Floriprem 40 is an antibacterial drug. Florfenicol is a thiamphenicol derivative. The hydroxyl group is substituted by a fluorine atom. Florfenicol is a broad-spectrum bacteriostatic antibiotic. Florfenicol is active against Staphylococcus spp., Streptococcus spp., Escherichia coli, Salmonella spp., Actinobacillus pleuropneumoniae, Pasteurella multocida, Haemo-philus spp., Fusobacterium necrophorum, Proteus spp., Enterobacter spp., Klebsiella spp., Bordetella spp., as well as Mycoplasma spp. The antibiotic inhibits peptidyl transferase activity, as a result it leads to the inhibition of protein synthesis at the ribosomal level. After oral administration, florfenicol is well and quickly absorbed in the gastrointestinal tract and distributed to all organs and tissues. The therapeutic concentration persists for 24 hours. Florfenicol is metabolized and excreted intact in the urine and to a lesser extent in the feces.
